St. James Parish
Small Christian Communities

"For where two or more are gathered in my name, there am I in their midst." Matthew 18:20

The Mission of Small Christian Community Ministry is to establish, develop, nourish and maintain parish based Small Christian Communities to foster awareness and engagement in faith sharing and daily gospel living as a parish life style.

The Jubilee journey of spiritual renewal and evangelization through faith sharing was initiated with our participation in RENEW 2000. Now, the process continues in these communities wherein we seek to mature in our faith and Duc Altum of "go deeper", as our Holy Father exhorts, with our Lord, one another and those to whom he calls and draws into service. This daily call to union of faith and life is "putting God’s love into action."

After participation in RENEW some parishioners at St. James decided to continue the process. At St. James there are a variety of Small Christian Communities that meet "to go deeper."

Some groups follow Lectionary Based Materials, while others may use a different approach. Many groups open with prayer and a sharing or witnessing of each person’s spiritual growth. Groups meet for approximately 1 to 1½ hours.

The following are specific groups, meeting schedules, contact persons and phone numbers. Many meet in a parishioner’s home. New members are welcomed to join any Small Christian Community group. If you wish to lead a group, start a new group, or have questions, contact Moore Hank at (609) 737-0122.
