In July, 30 youth and adults joined 324 other campers in Groton Ct. This band of 354 campers did community service projects to improve homes of the elderly, poor and disabled that could not make the repairs themselves at no cost to the homeowners. The sponsor, Service on the Sound, provided hospitality to us bought the teenagers into a closer relationship with Jesus, 11 churches, hundreds of businesses and individuals together.
The 354 campers put in 10,620 hours to fix up 55 homes. We used 400 gallons of paint, 48 houses had exterior and 22 houses had interior painting. Over 12,000 linear board feet of lumber were used with 500 pounds of nails to build 7 porches and 5 wheelchair ramps. There we hundreds of yards of skirting installed on trailers.
